Dr. Stephen Nenninger, ND, is a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor with over 30 years of clinical experience. He earned his degree from the federally accredited National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, in 1995. While there, he cultivated strong interests in microbiology and homeopathic medicine.

He has been licensed as a Naturopathic Doctor in Connecticut since 1995. The same year, he also became a New York State–licensed Nutritionist, as New York does not currently offer licensure for Naturopathic Doctors. In 2005, he obtained licensure in Arizona, where the expanded scope of practice enabled more comprehensive diagnostics, broader diagnostic authority, and the ability to prescribe select conventional medications when needed for challenging cases. He added his California license in 2009 to support select long-term clients and has maintained an active practice there ever since.

Naturopathic medical training and licensure involve demanding, multi-day board examinations covering both conventional Western medical sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, diagnosis, and prognosis) and a full spectrum of naturopathic therapies—including spinal manipulation, botanical medicine from multiple traditions, homeopathy, nutritional medicine, and other clinically effective approaches. This rigorous foundation, combined with decades of hands-on experience and thousands of successful patient outcomes generated almost exclusively by word-of-mouth, informs Dr. Nenninger’s practice. For the past decade, he has focused his work on Helminthic Therapy.
